Zany sex scenes interlace and structure Japanese film studio Nikkatsu’s homage to its own past — with Isao Yukisada reviving the “Roman Porno” films of the 70s and 80s. His career having hit rock bottom, a broke filmmaker jumps every woman crossing his path, his desire driven by the sonic universe of Erik Satie.

Soil resounding, then the echo of dripping water submerged and muted in a river’s flow. A young filmmaker floats between old polaroids. Flickers. The recollected and the photographic become the canvas of a colorful intervention. The roughness of splashes seem an obvious reaction to years passing by in two minutes.
