Provocation – how creative provocation results in aesthetical and social challenges.

The communication between a film, advertising campaigns and the audience is a major factor that defines the distribution and perception of films. Within this communication, criticism finds itself as a mediator, amplifier and force of irritation, shifting its position between center and periphery. Extreme positions create insight through refusal or exultation. We will have a look at three implications of provocation: strategy of cultural action, mode of cultural negotiation, factual or perceived assault on foundations of society.
