EVA DOESN’T SLEEP [Tickets[Event]

D: Pablo Agüero, C: Gael García Bernal, Denis Lavant, Daniel Fanego, Sabrina Macchi, DOP: Ivan Gierasinchuk, AR 2015, 85 min., Spanish OwEs – GP

The corpse of Eva Perón, adulated as an icon but despised by the overthrowing junta for her populism, disappeared during Argentina’s military dictatorship. Pablo Agüero speculates on this curious chapter of history in his atmospheric and darkly arch take on the magnetic mythology of power and the female body, featuring Gael García Bernal and Denis Lavant.

HOMER, A HUNTER’S FATE (LA FIN D’HOMÈRE)

D: Zahra Vargas, C: Sonja Bruttin, Narcisse Seppey, Rodolphe Bauer, Viviane Roh, Daniel Roh, DOP: Masanori Omori, Mirjam Landolt, Matthias Staub, Zahra Vargas, CH 2015, 23 min., French OwEs – GP

A body blending in with its environment, breathing in unison. Silence. A shot unbalances everything. A film that explores what authorities and rules can mean. Victims become sculptures and a story unfolds when a hunter’s fate is sealed by a mammoth bird.
