GREEN WHITE GREEN
D: Abba T. Makama, C: Ifeanyi Dike Jr., Samuel Robinson, Jamal Ibrahim, Crystabel Goddy, DP: Segun Olademiji, NG 2016, 102 min., English OV – DP
Does there exist a unified notion of Nigeria – historical disjunctions notwithstanding? Abba Makama’s quest for contemporary answers unfolds as a satirical take on Nollywood, whereby the sheer joy and starry-eyed cinephilia make everything fall into place: African and American pop culture, Nigerian past and tradition.
SARAH WINCHESTER (Sarah Winchester, opéra fantôme)
D: Bertrand Bonello, C: Reda Kateb, Marie-Agnès Gillot, Juliette Vial, DP: Irina Lubtchansky, FR 2016, 24 min., French OV – DP
An opera that might never be and a woman growing rich on the arms trade. In his short film, Betrand Bonello pits deranged and dancing women one against the other. “There will be blood.”
